Join the AHS pharmacy team to work at full scope of practice. This role requires expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding, conducting final checks on medications, and managing inventory. Your responsibilities will encompass mentoring Pharmacy Assistants, preparing and checking repackaged medications, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate sterile and non-sterile compounding activities
• Perform final checks of medications prior to dispensing
• Handle inventory management and procurement tasks
• Mentor and train new Pharmacy Assistants and students
• Maintain compliance with NAPRA and ACP standards
Requirements:
• Completion of CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician program
• Current registration with Alberta College of Pharmacy
• Minimum 1 year experience in hospital pharmacy
• Familiarity with automation systems like Pyxis or Omnicell
• Ability to lift 30 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
