Become a vital part of the IWK Health team in Halifax as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Day Unit. Provide exceptional care for pediatric patients with a focus on complex conditions in a supportive setting.
This temporary part-time role is positioned within the Children's Medical Care department. As a Registered Nurse, you will apply your knowledge to provide family-centered care, comprehensive assessments, and nursing management for children and adolescents. Your contributions will not only support patient care but also enhance the well-being of families across Atlantic Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver family-centered patient care in ambulatory settings
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and care planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Facilitate extensive patient and family education
• Manage immunology and infectious disease care needs
Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Licensed or eligible for nurse licensure in Nova Scotia
• Minimum five years of pediatric experience
• Competency in CVAD, IV therapy, and venipuncture
• Effective communication skills in healthcare settings
