About the Role Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join their remote-based support team, serving clients across various regions. This critical role involves providing confidential counseling, support, and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction. You will develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate group therapy sessions, and connect clients with necessary resources for recovery and long-term sobriety. Key Responsibilities Conduct assessments to diagnose substance use disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide individual and group counseling services to clients addressing addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.
Facilitate psychoeducational sessions on addiction, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring effective recovery pathways.




Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support networks to provide holistic care.
Requirements Relevant degree or certification in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Registered or eligible for registration with a relevant professional board (e.g., SACSSP, HPCSA).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in substance abuse counseling.
Strong knowledge of addiction, recovery principles, and therapeutic modalities.
Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and maintaining client confidentiality remotely.
