Job Summary & Requirements
The Patient Services Clerk is responsible for data entry, scheduling, phone communication, team support, site and supply oversight and clinic flow within a wide variety of clinics both on site and off site.
Education:
Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Program essential
Experience:
2-3 years clerical experience in an outpatient/clinic setting or equivalent
Experience with data entry and excel
Work within interdisciplinary settings
Experience with the pediatric population and families
Familiarity with multi-site and off site clinic work
Experience working directly with physicians
Experience within a setting with competing priorities and multiple demands
Experience with process development and improvement as well as independent problem solving skills
Travel to community sites
Transportation of patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers
Standing for extended periods
Detail orientation and demonstration of critical thinking
Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Excel and Data Entry – essential
Keyboarding skills – 50wpm – essential
Current experience with Meditech, including registration, EMR, order entry and appointment scheduling required
Current experience in the processing of physicians orders




Demonstrated skill set in patient centered support and supporting a team with a variety of health care providers
Other:

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, public, colleagues and other members of the interprofessional team.
