Enhance dignity and hope as a Supportive Housing Specialist with Good Shepherd’s Dorothy Day Place. Join a team committed to providing culturally protected housing and support for individuals facing chronic homelessness.
In this role, you will work primarily with cis women, trans, and non-binary individuals in need of permanent supportive housing. Your focus on client-directed care, trauma-informed practices, and anti-oppressive frameworks will be key as you assist in life skill development and encourage community integration. You will operate within a structure that emphasizes safety, respect, and adaptability in response to participants' varied needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate on individualized care and safety plans
• Provide supportive counseling on trauma and mental health
• Attend case conferences and complex care planning meetings
• Maintain a hospitable environment for clients
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements:
• Minimum 1-year experience in social services
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Knowledge of anti-racism and harm reduction principles
• Experience in residential settings preferred
• Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
