JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets while contributing to a safe and welcoming work setting for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

Ensures the safety and protection of casino guests, employees and company property

Anticipates potential problems and seeks ways to prevent disruption

Responds to emergency situations as requested; takes steps to rectify problems while minimizing casino liability

Assists in fills, credits, drops and key control

Greets guests and controls access to casino

May perform Security Dispatch duties

Complies with all general orders, policies, procedures, regulations and controls as well as policies outlined in the employee handbook

Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious in your demeanor

Chooses to make everyday a great day

Stays focused in order to be there

Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day

Education And Qualifications





Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!

Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent) is required

Ability to be licensed by the Nova Scotia Alcohol and Gaming Division as a Security Officer

Ability to successfully complete the Security Officer Training Course is required

Satisfactory attendance is required

Certification in First Aid and CPR an asset (if not certified, must be willing to complete First Aid and CPR training)

Certification in Crisis Intervention an asset (if not certified, must be willing to complete Crisis Intervention training)

Must have a professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills and be a proven team player

Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills

Ability to stand for long periods of time is required

Candidates will be assessed on math and reading skills

Work Environment Considerations

Regular casino/Racino environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, some elements of danger, some exposure to the elements, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal or physical abuse, non-traditional work hours
