Join Friends of Ruby as a Clinical Counsellor in Toronto, supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth through trauma-informed mental health services. Utilize evidence-based approaches to facilitate individual counselling and crisis intervention.
This full-time, permanent role targets candidates with a graduate degree in social work, psychology, or counselling. In this team-oriented environment, you will provide individual sessions, lead therapeutic groups, and connect youth with vital resources. Your impact will enhance mental health support for 2SLGBTQIA+ and intersectional BIPOC youth within a safe, inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide single-session and short-term clinical counselling
• Deliver crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and mindfulness programming
• Coordinate referrals and community care support
• Maintain accurate clinical records for continuity of care
Requirements:
• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Membership with OCSWSSW or CRPO (RSW/RP)
• 1-5 years of clinical counselling experience
• Experience supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth
• Commitment to anti-oppressive, trauma-informed practice
