About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join their dynamic legal and government affairs team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on a wide range of sales trade practice matters, including but not limited to, pricing, shopper marketing, and revenue management.

This role requires a leader with a law degree, a member in good standing of a provincial bar, and at least 8 years of experience in both law firm and in-house settings, preferably with a consumer packaged goods background. The Assistant General Counsel will be a key player in ensuring the alignment of legal risk with the company's business strategy,



and will be involved in the review, drafting, and negotiation of legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities for the Assistant General Counsel include leading a team, providing legal counsel and risk assessment to the Canadian sales teams, and representing the company in various legal matters. The ideal candidate will be an authentic and motivated leader, with a proven track record of inspiring and developing their team.
They should have a deep understanding of regulatory and commercial issues related to the beverage industry or other consumer packaged goods, and be adept at influencing executives and senior leadership. The role also involves the development and improvement of contract management workflows, procedures, and templates, as well as the proactive and effective management of legal risks and disputes.
