**Job Title: Production Associate**
**Job Description**
The Production Associate supports high-volume food manufacturing by preparing dough, handling ingredients, and assisting across multiple production areas on a quiche line.

This role involves repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, and operating or working around dough mixing machinery in a cold, fast-paced environment.

The position requires flexibility to work various afternoon shifts and openness to training in different departments as production needs change.
**Responsibilities**
Mix and prepare dough mixtures using ingredient bags weighing up to 50 pounds, following established recipes and procedures.

Roll out spindles of dough to the correct thickness based on production requirements and quality standards.

Roll dough onto spindles and safely transport them to line operators, frequently lifting and carrying weights of approximately 4050 pounds.

Work as a floater by supporting and training in other areas and departments as needed, adapting to changing production priorities.

Operate or work around dough mixing and food manufacturing machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform repetitive production tasks while maintaining focus, consistency, and attention to detail throughout the shift.

Stand and walk on the production floor for 89 hours per day, moving between prep, cooking, and packaging areas as required.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including removing all jewelry and adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.

Handle and work with various food ingredients, including milk, wheat, and meat products, while following food safety guidelines.

Maintain a clean and organized workstation, contributing to overall plant cleanliness and product quality.

Communicate effectively with line operators, supervisors, and teammates to support smooth production flow.

Comply with all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats, hairnets, safety shoes, and ear plugs.
**Essential Skills**
Experience in food manufacturing or food production environments.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately over an 89 hour shift.

Capability to stand and walk for 89 hours per day on a production floor.

Comfort working with dough and dough mixing machinery in a food manufacturing setting.

Ability to safely lift and carry weights of approximately 4050 pounds on a regular basis.

Willingness and ability to work afternoon shifts and to be placed on any afternoon schedule as required.

Comfort working in a cold environment that feels similar to the inside of a refrigerator.

Comfort working with meat products and being around meat storage areas.

Ability to work in a quick-paced, loud, and cramped production environment with tight corners and flour dust in the air.

Willingness to remove all jewelry, including ear, nose, and facial piercings, in compliance with GMP regulations.

Ability to work safely around loud machinery while using required hearing protection.

Reliability in commuting to and from afternoon shifts without reliance on public transit after the shift, due to limited transit options.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Previous experience on a production line or in general labor, warehouse, or manufacturing roles.

In food preparation or handling food products in an industrial setting.

Flexibility to train on day shifts (for example, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM) for approximately one week prior to transitioning to afternoon shifts.





Comfort working without windows and in an enclosed production space.

Attention to detail and quality when preparing dough thickness and handling ingredients.

Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist in other departments as a floater.

Awareness of personal food allergies and ability to work safely around ingredients such as milk, wheat, and other allergens.

**Work Environment**
The role is based on a quiche production line within a food manufacturing facility that is divided between office space and production areas.

The production floor is further separated by product lines and stages of production, including preparation, cooking, and packaging.

The environment is kept cold, typically around 1520 degrees Celsius depending on the season, and feels similar to the inside of a refrigerator due to meat storage requirements.

The production area is fast-paced, cramped with tight corners, and has flour dust in the air, with loud noise levels near the machinery and no windows.

Production associates work afternoon shifts, with typical schedules such as 2:15 PM10:45 PM, 3:15 PM12:00 AM, 3:00 PM11:30 PM, or 4:30 PM1:00 AM, and must be open to all afternoon shifts as assignments are based on operational needs.

Some positions require initial training on a day shift (for example, 6:30 AM3:00 PM) before moving to afternoons.

There is no public transit available after the afternoon shifts end, so reliable transportation is essential.

Employees work with dough, mixing machinery, and various food ingredients, including milk, wheat, and meat products, and must ensure they have no conflicting food allergies.

Dress code on the production floor includes lab coats, hairnets, safety shoes, and ear plugs, and all jewelry, including ear, nose, and facial piercings, must be removed to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vaughan, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.02 - $21.02/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
