As an Accountant, Privately Held Business Group your responsibilities will include:

- Provide recommendations for our clients
- Plan and execute client engagements
- Bookkeeping preparation and posting of client transactions
- Planning and execution of notice to reader engagements, including preparation of financial statements
- Preparing adjusting journal entries
- Performing reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Performing reconciliations of payroll
- Preparing personal and corporate tax returns, partnership returns, trust returns and GST returns
- Assisting a broad range of privately held business clients with day to day accounting queries
- Completing additional ad-hoc duties or assignments as required

Think you’ve got what it takes to be an Accountant, Privately Held Business Group? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:

- An accounting certificate, diploma or equivalent practical experience (we can also support those who are in the CPA program, or intend to in the future).
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public practice
- Experience with Quickbooks is an asset
- The ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to be an articulate,

We benchmark regularly across a wide spectrum of roles, industries, sectors, and levels to ensure our ranges are both competitive and current. But we don’t stop there.

We also consider the unique strengths, experiences, and impact each individual brings to the table. Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $52,000–$62,000 in Nanaimo, BC.

If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.

Our special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person. That’s why we’re working in a model where teams are required to be together in the office 4 days per week.
