Job Summary The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) invites qualified Anesthesiologists to apply for flexible locum opportunities.

We offer daytime elective scheduling blocks across community surgical slates at Eagle Ridge Hospital as well as tertiary and subspecialty slates at Royal Columbian Hospital. Schedules can be tailored to candidate availability and scope of practice.

About The Clinical & Teaching Environment

Our unified department supports two clinical facilities within the Fraser Health network:

- Royal Columbian Hospital: A bustling teaching hospital and regional Level 1 trauma centre featuring high-acuity cardiac, neurosurgical, thoracic, vascular, and high-risk obstetric caseloads.
- Eagle Ridge Hospital: An active community surgical centre focusing on high-efficiency ambulatory and elective surgical services.

As a designated UBC and SFU affiliate teaching site, there is an expectation that locum staff participate in the perioperative teaching and supervision of medical students and residents during scheduled slates. Locums will find a welcoming, collegial group of physicians with strong nursing, allied health, and academic support.

Qualifications & Requirements

- FRCPC in Anesthesiology (or eligible/recognized equivalent for locum practice).
- Active or eligible for provisional/full licensure or locum registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage.





Prior independent tertiary or community anesthesia experience is welcome; fellowship training is not mandatory for general locum coverage.
