We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) to join our leadership team.

Position Summary The Assistant Director of Care works closely with the Director of Care and the broader leadership team to oversee the delivery of high-quality nursing and personal care services. The ADOC provides clinical leadership and support to residents, families, and staff while helping ensure that care practices meet applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and best practices.

The successful candidate will be an approachable and collaborative leader who is committed to resident safety, staff development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of nursing and care staff, ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained across all departments.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, providing guidance, supervision, and mentorship to foster professional growth and teamwork.
- Coordinate case management activities, including assessments, care planning, and discharge planning for diverse patient populations such as seniors, pediatrics, or those requiring dementia or acute care.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards by maintaining accurate documentation in electronic health records systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support medication administration processes,



including overseeing medication safety protocols and assisting with phlebotomy procedures when necessary.
- Facilitate staff training on medical terminology, pain management techniques, assisted living practices, and specialized care needs such as dementia or pediatric care.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and streamline clinical workflows.

Skills

- Extensive hospital experience with a strong understanding of acute care environments and senior or long-term care facilities.
- Proven team management skills with experience supervising nursing teams and multidisciplinary staff.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and electronic health record systems like YARDI.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including adults in home or assisted living settings, and residents in nursing homes or senior care facilities.
- Strong organizational abilities
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with healthcare team, patients’ families, and external providers.
