Willow Park Golf & Country Club is looking for a reliable, motivated and mechanically inclined Assistant Mechanic to join our Turf & Grounds team.

This is a excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with equipment, solving mechanical problems and learning new skills. The Assistant Mechanic will work closely with our experienced Head Mechanic to help maintain and repair the wide variety of specialized equipment used to maintain our golf course and property.

Previous mechanical experience is an asset, but we are also interested in candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn and a good work ethic.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Head Mechanic with the daily servicing, maintenance and repair of golf course and turf equipment
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, greasing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Assist with blade and reel sharpening and equipment setup
- Help troubleshoot and repair mechanical and small-engine equipment
- Assist with seasonal equipment preparation and changeovers
- Keep the maintenance shop, tools and equipment clean, safe and organized
- Help ensure equipment is properly maintained and ready for daily use
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with other Turf & Grounds duties when required

Qualifications & Skills

- Mechanical or small-engine experience is an asset, but not required




- Previous golf course or turf equipment experience is an asset
- Mechanically inclined with an interest in equipment maintenance and repair
- Willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to perform physical work and work outdoors when required
- Valid driver's licence is an asset
