Blackhawk Golf Club is looking for an accomplished and motivated Associate Golf Professional to join our team for the 2027 season onwards. This is an opportunity to become part of a club with a distinct identity in a remarkable setting with an ambitious vision for the future. Set along the North Saskatchewan River in southwest Edmonton, Blackhawk is home to one of Canada's most spectacular golf courses.

The original 18 holes, designed by renowned Alberta architect Rod Whitman, helped establish a new era of minimalist golf course architecture in Canada. Broad playing corridors, natural fescue, rugged bunkering and strategically designed green complexes combine to create a course that is both visually striking and highly engaging to play. Since opening in 2003, Blackhawk has earned significant national recognition, including being named Best New Course in Western Canada by Golf Digest.

The Club is currently ranked 20th in Canada by SCORE Golf Magazine. And Blackhawk's story is still being written. With nine additional holes approved and anticipated for completion in late 2028, the Club is progressing toward becoming Edmonton's first 27-hole private golf facility.

The Club's continued investment in its golf facilities creates an exciting backdrop for professional development. The addition of nine new holes will further expand the golf operation and create new opportunities for the team in the years ahead. Blackhawk also provides an unusually accessible member experience.

Unlike many private clubs, our golf operation does not rely on a ballot-based tee-time system, allowing members and the professional team to enjoy exceptional access to the course throughout the season.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable assisting a member on the first tee, managing a busy golf shop, coordinating an event or stepping into the operational details required to keep the department running seamlessly. You should be comfortable communicating with a private club membership, working collaboratively with a team and taking ownership of responsibilities. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Daily member and guest service
- Golf shop operations, merchandising and retail sales
- Tee sheet administration and daily golf scheduling
- Member leagues and programming
- Tournament planning and execution
- Staff supervision, coordination and development
- Golf events and Club activities
- Golf Academy programming and instruction
- Building strong, lasting relationships with members and guests
- Supporting the ongoing development and success of the overall golf operation

Qualifications

Required:
- PGA of Canada or LPGA Class A Qualified status.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A professional and personable approach to member service.




- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, team-oriented environment.

Considered an asset:
- Previous private club experience.
- Post-secondary education.
- Experience with golf retail, tournaments, leagues and/or golf instruction.

Compensation

Blackhawk Golf Club is committed to providing a compensation and benefits package that recognizes the contributions of its professional staff.

Compensation includes

- Base salary of $4,500+ per month, commensurate with experience
- 90% of teaching revenue
