Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Accounting Specialist to join our team. Duties
- Manage and record all financial transactions using QuickBooks
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
- Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies
- Conduct account analysis to monitor financial performance and prepare reports for management
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
- Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure data integrity across all ledgers
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and forecasting future financial needs
- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger entries, and monthly bank/credit card reconciliations.
- Retail & E-Commerce Accounting: Reconcile daily point-of-sale (POS) batch transactions across three retail locations and integrate online sales channels (e.g., Shopify) with accounting software.
- Payroll & Benefits: Process weekly payroll for retail and office staff, maintain employee records, and manage remittance deductions.
- Tax Compliance & Government Filings: Prepare and file HST remittances, WSIB reporting, and assist with year-end corporate tax preparations alongside external accountants.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, and inventory valuation reports for senior management.
- Inventory Reconciliation: Work with inventory management systems to monitor stock levels, COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), and shrink variances across all locations.
Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting experience (retail or e-commerce background preferred).
- Proven experience working with QuickBooks
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliation
- Experience in payroll processing and related compliance requirements
- Knowledge of account reconciliation techniques and account analysis methods
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
Pay: $45,193.98-$89,460.98 per year
