CAD Technologist It’s an exciting time to be part of the Give & Go team and we want you to be a part our extraordinarily bright future!

We are currently recruiting for a detail orientated CAD Technologist to be part of our Engineering team.

The CAD Technologist is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining CAD standards for the company, as well as creating, updating and maintaining Engineering drawings using AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities (General)

- Support the Engineering and Facilities staff as they develop, plan, and execute capital projects through the entire project lifecycle (scoping, design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning) by:
- Creating accurate engineering drawings from field measurements, sketches, calculations, specification sheets and other data. Types of drawings will include, but are not limited to: general arrangement, equipment layout, architectural, electrical, P&ID;, structural, civil/plumbing, and HVAC
- Using intuition and interpreting technical information in order to help identify the most suitable solution or layout
- Develop, implement, and enforce CAD standards for engineering drawings, including but not limited to standards related to: file structure, file naming, layering, annotation, external references, and plots. This may involve creating drawing templates, best practice documents and detail libraries
- Check and verify drawings conform to specifications and provided data and communicate and consult with engineers to resolve any drawings issues
- Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps and standards for product packaging equipment, including the standardization of equipment solutions for common applications
- Ensure timely support of internal departments (QA, EH&S;, etc.) that require assistance with drawings or layouts.

Key Responsibilities (Safety)

- Follow company’s health and safety program,



rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes
- Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your Supervisor
- Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company
- Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation

Communication Network

- Internal
- Engineering Department - Collaborates with other members of the engineering department to develop new engineering or facilities design; provide training on CAD standards
- Facilities - Train the Facilities staff on CAD Standards

- External
- Vendors/Suppliers - Ensure that third party vendors or contractors provide drawings that meet the company’s CAD standards
- Service Providers - Develop and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers

Qualifications

- Completion of a college diploma in Engineering or a related field
- Completion of university degree in Engineering or a related field an asset
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Engineering/Manufacturing, preferably in the industrial bakery or food manufacturing industry
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment is considered an asset
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to build relationships and work with people
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in creating 2D and 3D models
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents and specifications. Design or coordination experience with structural and mechanical and electrical systems would be an asset
- Experience in creating and implementing CAD standards
- Experience and knowledge in manufacturing, construction, and building operations
- Must have strong skills in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with BIM software, such as REVIT, would be an asset
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle a fast-paced setting with competing priorities and demands
