FACULTY OVERVIEW:
The Faculty of Trades & Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University is currently seeking a Non-Regular Type 1 (contract) Carpentry/Building Construction instructor to provide short-term delivery of entry level and apprenticeship training, which may extend from a single day to several weeks.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The delivery of this four-week program will take place in-person in Campbell River, BC.
More information concerning the working conditions for a faculty member are outlined in Article 12 of the Kwantlen Faculty Association (KFA) Collective Agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum qualifications include a Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE).
- A minimum of five years current industry experience as a Carpentry/Building Construction Journeyperson.
- Also required is the knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with students.
- Preference will be given to those applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching successfully, current carpentry skills and five (5) years supervisory or administrative experience. Contract consideration may be subject to a practical assessment.

*SALARY INFORMATION:
Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
The successful candidate of this competition may be added to our Qualified Faculty List. When work in this area becomes available, the Qualified Faculty List will be drawn upon to assign work. As such, please indicate on your application your preferred workload percentage.
