Mara Surgical Centre is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team in a casual Scrub Nurse position, primarily supporting plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures.

We are looking for an experienced OR nurse who is confident in the scrub role, works well within a surgical team, and is committed to providing safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Work as the scrub nurse for plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures
- Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and sterile field
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon throughout surgical procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique and surgical asepsis
- Perform surgical counts in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Assist with specimen handling and surgical documentation
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient operating room
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures
- Work collaboratively with the surgeon, anesthesia team, circulating nurse, and other surgical staff




- Follow infection prevention and control standards and facility policies
- Provide professional, patient-centred care throughout the surgical experience

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of operating room (OR) nursing experience – required
- Current registration as an RN or RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated experience working in the scrub role
- Robust knowledge of sterile technique, surgical asepsis, and OR practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a surgical environment
- Reliable, professional, and committed to patient safety and quality care
- Experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery is considered an asset but not required

Pay: $39.63-$45.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 – 10.0 per week
