POSITION SUMMARY The Catering Manager turns inquiries into confirmed business and manages an assigned portfolio of events from first conversation through to event day. The Club has two Catering Manager positions at the same level. Each is responsible for a portfolio assigned by the Senior Sales & Events Manager, for example, by market (corporate or social) or by type of business (new inquiries or existing and repeat bookings). The Catering Managers cover each other's portfolios when needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Conversion

- Achieve revenue targets for the assigned portfolio, set by the Senior Sales & Events Manager.
- Manage incoming inquiries (phone, email, website, and Event Temple) for the assigned portfolio, respond within one business day, and convert them into confirmed bookings.
- Conduct consultations and site tours, and prepare tailored proposals.
- Issue event agreements, secure deposits, and follow up on outstanding contracts and deposits for assigned events.
- Identify upsell opportunities (menus, beverage, décor, AV, room upgrades) that improve the event and increase revenue.
- Manage all leads, bookings, and client communications in Event Temple.

Event Documentation

- Build BEOs, event details, and floor plans for assigned events in Event Temple, to Club standards and on schedule.
- Work with the Events & Catering Coordinator, who reviews, finalizes,



and distributes BEOs; support the Coordinator with BEO development during busy periods.

Event Management

- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned members and clients through event completion.
- Communicate event details to the Banquet Manager, Executive Chef, and Operations team, and take part in weekly event briefings.
- Be on site for assigned events as scheduled.
- Collect client feedback after events and share it with the Senior Sales & Events Manager.

Reporting & Support

- Contribute to weekly pipeline reviews and monthly revenue forecasting.
- Review final invoices for assigned events before billing.
- Follow Club policies on bookings, deposits, and cancellations.
- Support the Senior Sales & Events Manager's outreach, marketing, open houses, and trade shows as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of experience in catering sales and event management in a private club, hotel, or event venue.
- Proven ability to convert inquiries and meet revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage, banquet operations, and BEO processes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple events and deadlines at once.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Event Temple (training provided).
- Serving It Right certification required.

WORKING CONDITIONS Full-time, hourly. Hours are scheduled flexibly, based on client meetings, site tours, and event needs. The role involves time on your feet during site tours and events, including outdoor and waterfront areas of the Club.

Pay: Starts at $30.00 per hour
