Oxford Cattle Company is a large-scale cattle operation located in Southwestern Ontario, specializing in raising dairy-beef cattle from young calves through to stockers. Position Overview
Oxford Cattle Company is seeking a dependable and highly organized Cattle Records & Operations Coordinator to support the daily management of cattle records, animal movements, routine processing activities, inventory, and operational reporting.
This is a hands-on role that connects what is happening in the barns with the information in our herd management systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring cattle movements, sales, processing information, health records, and inventories are completed accurately and on time.
The position requires someone who is comfortable working both in an office and around cattle, can manage multiple priorities, and takes ownership of ensuring records accurately reflect what is happening across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
Cattle Records & Movements
● Maintain accurate cattle records using herd management and data systems, including
Herdtrax, Performance Beef, and Google Sheets
● Record cattle sales, transfers, and movements accurately and within required timelines
● Scan and update records for calves as they transition between housing and production stages
● Coordinate and record cattle movements
● Review calf records for missing, incorrect, or duplicate information
● Reconcile electronic records with physical cattle locations and correct discrepancies
● Troubleshoot herd management software and data issues as they arise
Cattle Processing & Scheduling
● Prepare the weekly schedule for routine cattle processing activities, such as vaccinations, health procedures, weighing, and other scheduled management events
● Enter completed processing events, treatments, and other animal health information into herd management systems
● Upload and update cattle weights following processing
● Review processing records to ensure information is complete and accurate
Reporting & Data Management
● Prepare and distribute a daily operational dashboard before 8:00 AM
● Complete weekly cattle inventory reconciliation and production closeouts
● Review operational data for accuracy and completeness
● Identify data discrepancies and follow through until they are resolved
Medication & Supply Inventory Management
● Maintain accurate records of medications administered through cattle feed
● Receive and organize medications and animal health supplies
● Complete routine medication and supply inventory counts
● Prepare and submit supply orders
● Monitor inventory levels to ensure required medications and supplies are available when needed
● Maintain organized medication and supply storage areas
Operational Support
● Work closely with the Calf Manager, cattle processing team, animal health staff, and other OCC employees to resolve day-to-day operational issues
● Ensure cattle movements, treatments, sales, and other changes occurring in the barns are accurately reflected in company systems
● Assist with troubleshooting cattle identification and record discrepancies
● Provide additional operational support as required to keep cattle flow and records accurate and up to date
Qualifications & Skills
● Experience working with cattle is required
● Strong computer and data-entry skills
● Experience with herd management or livestock record-keeping software is an asset
● Experience with Herdtrax is considered an asset
● Solid attention to detail and commitment to accurate record keeping
● Strong organizational and time-management skills
● Ability to prioritize urgent tasks while maintaining routine daily and weekly responsibilities
● Comfortable troubleshooting problems and following them through to resolution
● Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
● Strong communication and teamwork skills
● Spanish is considered an asset
Schedule & Compensation
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday. Regular hours are 5:00 AM - 3:00
PM on Mondays and 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday through Friday.
Compensation is $21 - 25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
The position reports directly to the Calf Manager.

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 50.0 per week
