Location: In-person, with occasional community outreach

Position Overview The Don Mills Family Health Team (DMFHT) provides primary health care, including health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. DMFHT comprises an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals who work in a collaborative model of care.

We are seeking a Registered Chiropodist who is compassionate in engaging with patients, brings strong foot care expertise, and is a great team player who will work with other health professionals to develop long-term programs for our patients. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities (Clinical)

- Assessing the patient's feet, including skin, nails, circulation, sensation, biomechanics, and gait
- Developing customized treatment plans based on assessment outcomes
- Treating common foot conditions, such as corns, calluses, ingrown or fungal nails, plantar warts, and other skin and nail disorders
- Providing wound care and preventive foot care for patients at high risk, including those with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or reduced mobility
- Prescribing, fabricating, and dispensing custom orthotics and other devices, and recommending appropriate footwear
- Educating patients on foot health, injury prevention, self-care, and footwear selection
- Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress, treatment notes, and clinical reports
- Arranging physician consultations or referrals for issues outside the chiropodist's scope of practice
- Undertaking outreach services if needs arise




- Participating as a clinical team member in the development and delivery of targeted programs, including but not limited to diabetes and chronic disease management, falls prevention, palliative care, cancer care, case management, mental health and addictions, and reproductive and child health

Responsibilities (Administrative)

- Collecting service data as required for statistical and reporting purposes
- Participating in team building, program development, and improvement activities
- Participating in staff meetings to exchange ideas, receive mutual support, monitor program outcomes, and present case studies
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications & Requirements

- Registered and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario (CoCOO)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the health care provider level, maintained throughout employment
- Immunization and health clearance in accordance with FHT policy
- Two professional references
- Ability to interpret clinical findings and develop effective treatment strategies
- Excellent clinical judgment and a professional work ethic
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and stay flexible in a very active work environment
- Strong attendance record and reliability

Employment Details

Pay: $35.00 per hour
