About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Child Protection Social Worker to join their fully remote team, serving the Kimberley community. This critical role involves safeguarding the well-being of children by assessing risks, providing support, and coordinating interventions for vulnerable children and families. You will work collaboratively with families, schools, and relevant agencies to ensure child safety and promote positive outcomes, all managed through remote communication channels. This position requires robust advocacy skills, a deep understanding of child welfare legislation, and the ability to provide sensitive support virtually, making a profound impact from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct remote risk assessments and investigations concerning child welfare concerns.
- Develop and implement child protection plans, coordinating services with families and external agencies.
- Provide counseling and support to children and families affected by abuse or neglect.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children within legal and social service systems.
- Maintain accurate,



confidential case records and prepare detailed reports for relevant authorities.
- Collaborate effectively with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and educational institutions.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Proven experience in child protection or child welfare services.
- Thorough understanding of child welfare laws and policies.
- Excellent virtual communication, assessment, and intervention skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload remotely with efficiency and sensitivity.
