Collateral Analyst – Capital Markets

Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid, 4 days onsite

Duration: 6 months

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Rate: $40–$47/hr INC

Role Overview

Seeking a Collateral Analyst to support daily OTC collateral and margin activities within a global Capital Markets environment. The role is responsible for issuing and responding to collateral margin calls, meeting daily cash deadlines, reconciling collateral movements and helping manage counterparty credit exposure.

Key Responsibilities

- Issue and respond to daily OTC collateral margin calls.
- Manage end-to-end variation margin and initial margin processes.
- Ensure collateral is agreed and transferred within required deadlines and CSA terms.
- Monitor cash and non-cash collateral positions and daily funding requirements.
- Instruct and approve collateral movements.
- Reconcile collateral and portfolio positions with counterparties.
- Investigate and follow up on failed collateral movements and breaks.
- Support operational onboarding of counterparties.
- Maintain accurate collateral records and documentation.
- Assist with margin, funding and ad hoc reporting.




- Support testing related to system enhancements and integrations.
- Respond to audit and operational control requests.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 1–4 years of financial services experience, preferably within Capital Markets.
- Experience or knowledge of OTC collateral, margin calls or collateral management.
- Understanding of derivative products and related documentation, including CSA agreements.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets products, trade systems and operational processes.
- Solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within strict daily deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline.

Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Colline, APEX, RIMMS, AcadiaSoft and/or TriOptima.
- CSC certification.
- CFA designation or progress toward CFA.
- Previous experience within a global collateral or margin operations team.
