About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and energetic Community Mobilization Officer to foster engagement and participation within the communities they serve in Kimberley and the surrounding Northern Cape region. This role is pivotal in activating community members to participate in programs and initiatives that drive positive social change. You will be responsible for designing and implementing outreach strategies, building trust with local groups, and empowering community members to become agents of change. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement effective strategies for community mobilization and participation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local groups, and residents.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
- Identify community needs and assets, and mobilize resources to address them.
- Encourage and support community-led initiatives and participation in organizational programs.




- Monitor and report on the progress of mobilization efforts and their impact on the community.

Requirements

- Experience in community development, social work, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups.
- Proven ability to organize and facilitate community events and activities.
- Understanding of community dynamics and the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Familiarity with the Kimberley region and its social context is highly desirable.
- Passion for community empowerment and social justice.
