We are the Anishinaabeg of Deshkan Ziibiing, also known as Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. We call ourselves Anishinabek, which means the original people. We are known as the Ojibway, a Nation of the Algonquin language family who originally migrated to the Great Lakes area from the north-eastern region of North America.

Our political alliances are with the Odawa (Ottawa) and Bodaywadami (Pottawatomi), who form the Three Fires Confederacy. We have a modern air-conditioned school with a full-sized double-gym, outdoor track, a full cafeteria and a new library. Class sizes are small and well stocked with current resources, a SmartBoard and ample access to current technology.

The contract Custodian works directly under the general supervision of the Lead Custodian and overall supervision of the ARES Principals. There will be occasions when the hours will be irregular due to special school events and/or activities.

Qualifications and Abilities:

- Must have updated First Aid/CPR certificate.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, cleaning, etc.
- Must be reliable and responsible.




- Must provide a criminal background check and vulnerable screening
- Previous experience considered an asset.

Duties:

- Keeping the yard and any building free of waste material and other rubbish.
- Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, etc. on a daily basis.
- Removing ice and snow when required.
- Reporting hazards to the Lead Custodian.
- Carrying out other duties when assigned.
