Summary:

The Swing Class 3 Driver will be responsible for operating various trucks. This role supports public health by ensuring timely service, adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and respectful interaction with the community.

Responsibilities

In the position of Swing Class 3 Driver, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:





- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- The safe and efficient operation of Front-End, Roll-Off, Boom, Cube Van, Rear Loader, Top Loader trucks.
- Must have excellent knowledge of and be familiar with the roads in Halifax, Dartmouth and surrounding areas.
- Ensure customers are serviced as per their contractual requirements and schedules.
- Physical ability to safely push and pull various sizes and weights of containers in and out of enclosures and rooms.
- Unlocking and locking of containers and enclosures/rooms.
- Collection of cardboard in the core of Halifax.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Meet or exceed performance and productivity expectations through proven results.
- During some periods you will be required to assist with driving for residential collections.

Competencies & Qualifications:

- Must have a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence.
- Must possess a clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility with your work schedule is necessary as start and end times may vary. Overtime,



holidays and/or weekends will be required at times.
- Effective written and verbal communication is mandatory.
- Excellent attendance and performance record.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
