About Us

Goulding's Wholesale Limited is a Newfoundland and Labrador company that produces and distributes baked goods from West Tower Bakery (Gambo, NL) and Chatman's Bakery (Charlottetown, NL). Our products are on the shelves of grocery and retail stores across the province. We are growing our St. John's operations and are looking for a reliable driver to join our team.

The Role

Each morning, our Gambo-based drivers bring a loaded truck of fresh bakery products into St. John's. You will pick up that truck and deliver to our grocery and retail customers across the Avalon Peninsula. We operate 5 tonne box trucks, and a Class 5 licence is all you need.

What You'll Do

- Pick up the loaded truck at our St. John's swap point and complete a pre-trip inspection
- Deliver bakery products to grocery and retail stores on a planned route across the Avalon, using GPS to stay on schedule
- Load and unload product by hand and with a pallet jack
- Confirm orders with customers at delivery and resolve any issues on the spot
- Collect products from suppliers in St. John's for shipment to our Gambo and Charlottetown locations (as needed)
- Complete delivery paperwork and your daily log, and return the truck ready for the next day
- Keep the truck clean and report any mechanical issues found during inspections




- Keep your supervisor informed of delivery status, delays or issues during the day
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety standards and the rules of the road
- Represent Goulding's in a professional and courteous way with every customer

What You Need

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract and criminal background check
- Minimum 1 year of experience driving a 5 tonne or similar vehicle (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
- Strong time management and the ability to prioritize deliveries
- Comfortable working independently on the road
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Reliable, punctual and takes pride in doing the job right

Schedule

- Full-time, permanent
- Monday to Friday (five days per week)
- Start time between 6 and 7 am
