Director of Instruction: Within Range Golf Centre Within Range Golf Centre in Thornhill is seeking an experienced, motivated and business-minded Director of Golf Instruction to lead and develop our golf instruction operation for the 2027 season.

This is an opportunity for an individual who wants to take ownership of the instructional department, build a strong coaching team, develop innovative programs and play an active role in growing the overall business at Within Range. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for Within Range and will be expected to contribute not only as a golf instructor, but also as a leader, program developer and promoter of the facility.

Thornhilll Posted 2026-09-21 Deadline 2026-11-30 Job Summary The Director of Golf Instruction will be responsible for the overall development, organization and success of golf instruction at Within Range Golf Centre, Thornhill. The position will include both teaching and leadership responsibilities, with an emphasis on building a consistent, professional and successful instructional experience for golfers of all ages and abilities.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities are listed below.

Instruction & Coaching:

Provide high-quality private and group golf instruction. Develop and deliver programs for juniors, adults, beginners, intermediate and advanced players. Utilize technology, including Toptracer and other golf-performance tools, to enhance the learning experience. Maintain a professional and welcoming coaching environment. Continue to develop personal coaching knowledge and skills.

Instructional Department Leadership

Lead, coordinate and support the team of golf instructors. Establish consistent standards for coaching, customer service and professionalism. Assist with recruiting and onboarding new instructors. Mentor and support coaches in developing their programs and businesses. Coordinate instructor schedules and programming with facility management.



Encourage instructors to actively participate in the overall success and growth of Within Range.

Program Development

Create and implement new instructional programs throughout the season. Develop junior golf programs, camps, clinics, ladies' programs, beginner programs and other group initiatives. Identify opportunities to increase participation during both peak and non-peak periods. Work with management to develop programs that generate value for both customers and the facility.

Business Development & Promotion

Actively promote Within Range Golf Centre and its instructional programs. Build relationships with schools, corporations, community organizations, golf clubs and other potential partners. Encourage instructors to promote their programs through their own professional networks and social media. Help increase lesson bookings, program participation and overall traffic to the facility. Identify new revenue opportunities within the instructional department.

Facility Engagement

Be a visible and active member of the Within Range team. Participate in facility events, tournaments, promotions and special initiatives. Work closely with management and other departments to create a positive customer experience. Provide feedback and recommendations on ways to improve the instructional operation and facility.

Formal Qualifications

PGA of Canada membership or equivalent recognized skilled qualification.

Significant golf instruction and coaching experience.

Experience working with both junior and adult golfers.

Previous leadership or management experience is an asset.

Strong knowledge of golf instruction, technology and player development.

Business development, sales or program-management experience is an asset.

Current insurance and professional credentials appropriate for providing golf instruction in Ontario.

Compensation Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications and the scope of the role. The compensation structure may include a combination of instructional income, program revenue and performance-based opportunities, to be discussed with the successful candidate (estimateincome potentialshould range between $100,000.00+ per season).
