Dog Swim Vancouver is looking for a reliable, caring and proactive Dog Daycare Assistant to join our team full-time.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs, enjoys spending time and playing with them, and feels comfortable working in an active and sometimes noisy daycare environment.

The Role

This is a hands-on and active position. You’ll spend your day directly interacting with dogs, playing with them, caring for them and helping create a great daycare experience while maintaining a clean, safe and organized environment.

This role requires someone who is comfortable balancing dog care, activities, cleaning and organization throughout the day.

ResponsibilitiesDog Care & Daycare

- Supervise and actively interact with dogs during daycare.
- Monitor dogs’ behaviour, comfort and interactions to maintain a safe environment.
- Play with the dogs and provide attention and positive interaction throughout the day.
- Organize enrichment activities such as LickiMats, Kongs, toys, games and other appropriate activities.
- Help ensure dogs receive an appropriate balance of activity, enrichment and rest.
- Assist with outdoor breaks and walks, including taking dogs out in small groups.




- Feed dogs according to their individual instructions when required.
- Prepare and organize the daycare area for nap and rest time.
- Help dry dogs after swimming when required, including towel drying.
- Give extra attention to dogs who may be shy, senior, less active or who do not participate in swimming.

Cleaning & Facility Care
- Clean and maintain the pool and surrounding areas daily, including the outside edges of the pool. This position does not involve supervising swimming sessions.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop and sanitize daycare areas as required throughout the day.
- Clean gates, walls and other high-use areas.
- Clean and sanitize toys and daycare equipment.
- Maintain clean and comfortable beds and rest areas.
- Keep the front and back areas of the facility clean and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the day rather than leaving all cleaning until closing.
- Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning tasks.

Organization & Closing
- Keep life jackets, leashes, toys and equipment clean and returned to their designated places.
- Refill waste bags, cleaning products and other daycare supplies as needed.
- Make sure supplies and equipment are ready for the following day.
- Complete the daily closing routine and leave the daycare clean, organized and prepared for the next day.
- Follow Dog Swim’s daily checklists, routines, cleaning standards and safety procedures.

Social Media
- Create daily Instagram Stories by capturing natural photos and videos of the dogs, activities and special moments throughout the day.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:





- Genuinely loves dogs and truly enjoys playing, interacting and spending time with them.
- Is comfortable working around multiple dogs at the same time.
- Is comfortable in a busy and sometimes noisy environment, including barking and normal daycare noise.
- Is energetic and enjoys being actively involved with the dogs rather than simply supervising them.
- Is reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Is patient, caring and attentive.
- Is proactive and notices what needs to be done without always being asked.
- Is comfortable handling dogs of different sizes, personalities and energy levels.
- Understands that cleaning and organization are an essential part of this position.
- Is comfortable with physical work and being on their feet for extended periods.
- Can follow established routines and checklists consistently.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Is comfortable using Instagram and taking photos and videos.
- Is willing to learn and follow Dog Swim’s standards of care and safety.

Previous experience in dog daycare, boarding, kennels or animal care is an asset, but a genuine love for dogs, reliability, a positive attitude and willingness to learn are especially important to us.

Position Details

Full-Time

$19/hour

Location: Vancouver, BC

Expected start date: October 19, 2026
