Sunny South Day Care Centre is looking for a passionate Level 2 or Level 3 Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

Qualifications The successful candidate must have:

- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification - no exceptions!
- Knowledge of Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework is considered a strong asset
- If unfamiliar with Flight, willingness to complete Flight training within the first 6 months of employment as a condition of employment
- Valid First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it within 6 months
- Clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector search
- Clear child intervention check
- Strong spoken, written, reading, and comprehension skills in English

What your days will look like

As an Early Learning Professional, you will:

- Create a warm, safe, welcoming environment where children feel secure, capable, and valued
- Be actively involved with children throughout the day — indoors, outdoors, during routines, transitions, meals, and learning experiences
- Support children’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being
- Build strong, responsive relationships with children and get to know who they are as individuals
- Create emergent, open-ended programming based on children’s interests, development, and experiences
- Build respectful and cooperative relationships with families, coworkers, and program coaches
- Work independently while also understanding that childcare is very much a team sport
- Support diapering and toileting routines




- Complete regular observations and enter children’s daily information into ChildFriendly using a classroom iPad provided for work duties
- Maintain our program philosophy, policies, licensing requirements, and ministry regulations
- Participate in monthly program planning and staff meetings
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continue growing in your practice

Government wage top-up is paid monthly based on hours worked directly with children and certification level through the Government of Alberta.

Cost-shared health and dental benefits are available after 3 months of employment.
