Status: PNRK - Project of a Non-Recurring Kind
Hours: 40 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Digital Learning
Campus/Location: North Campus – must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of four (4) days on-site.
Salary: Min. $38.25 – Max. $44.32
About Digital Learning At Humber
Digital Learning at Humber Polytechnic supports innovative, accessible, and engaging teaching and learning through the effective use of digital technologies. The department works collaboratively with faculty and academic partners to enhance learning experiences, strengthen digital teaching practices, and support the delivery of high-quality education across Humber.
About The Educational Technology Administrator Role The Educational Technology Administrator (ETA) is responsible for the administration, support, and ongoing maintenance of key educational technology systems for Humber and Guelph-Humber, including the learning management system (LMS), student feedback platforms, and other solutions supported by Innovative Learning.
Responsibilities include system support, planning and deployment, upgrades, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, implementation of approved projects, database management, and reporting to meet institutional needs.
The Educational Technology Administrator works closely with the Learning Management System Administrator, Banner team, and Information Technology Services to ensure system integration and alignment,
while also serving as a backup for other educational technology administrators. The role provides advanced (tier-three) support to the Innovative Learning Support Centre, particularly during peak periods, and supports administrative updates across the Learning Management System and related tools.
The successful candidate stays current with emerging technologies and best practices, evaluates and recommends new tools and processes, and brings expertise in educational technology administration, database management, and technologies such as Blackboard Ultra, Blue Explorance, HTTP, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, MySQL, SASS, and NodeJS.
Key Duties
- Support the day-to-day operations in the Student Feedback Questionnaire tool and other educational technologies and system integrations.
- Support the implementation of updates and communicate these, as appropriate, to the Humber community.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot Learning Tools Interoperability and educational technology issues.
- Create, maintain, and report on relevant databases and datasets.
- Provide tier-three escalated support for faculty, staff and students on Student Feedback Questionnaires, the Learning Management System and related third-party educational technologies.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot Learning Tools Interoperability and educational technology issues.

Education
- Minimum 3-year diploma or equivalent.
- A diploma or degree related to educational technologies or computer software
Experience/Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years related, progressively responsible experience in an Education Technology environment with evidence of effective project management.
- Experience with the administration of surveys in a medium- to large institution.
- Experience creating and maintaining databases using current authoring tools.
- Demonstrated capacity for establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
