Pickering Mower is looking for an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our service team.

We are a busy, established outdoor power equipment dealership and are looking for someone who can come into the shop and hit the ground running.

This position is for an experienced mechanic who knows their way around small engines and equipment, can properly diagnose problems, and can get the job done without needing constant direction. During the fall and winter months, our shop also installs and services snow plows, salt spreaders and other heavier equipment, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable taking on more than just basic small engine repairs.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, productive and contributes to the team every day.

What We're Looking For

- Several years of hands-on small engine or related mechanical experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, snowblowers, trimmers, chainsaws and other outdoor power equipment
- Ability to diagnose fuel, electrical, ignition, EFI and mechanical problems
- Mechanical ability to work on larger equipment and more involved installations
- Experience with snow plows, salt spreaders, 12V electrical systems, wiring and accessory installation is a strong asset
- Comfortable working on trucks and heavier equipment for plow and salter installations
- Able to read and understand service manuals, wiring diagrams and installation instructions
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own jobs
- Own professional hand tools
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable, punctual and dependable

- Willing to help the rest of the shop when needed

- Commercial and residential lawn mowers
- Zero-turn and walk-behind mowers
- Snowblowers
- Chainsaws, trimmers and blowers
- 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
- EFI-equipped engines and equipment
- Electrical and charging systems
- Commercial outdoor power equipment
- Snow plows and salt spreaders
- Plow and salter installations
- 12V wiring,



controllers, lighting and electrical accessories
- Larger equipment and seasonal installations

What We Offer
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- $25–$30+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

We are looking for someone with real mechanical experience who can contribute to the shop from the start. Small engine experience is preferred, but we are also interested in experienced automotive, powersports, agricultural, truck or equipment mechanics who have strong diagnostic skills and are comfortable working on a variety of equipment.
