Extrusion Operator

Woodbridge, Ontario | Full-Time, Permanent | Plastics Manufacturing

Position Overview An established plastics manufacturer in the Woodbridge area is seeking an experienced Extrusion Operator to join its production team. This hands-on position involves monitoring extrusion lines, assisting with set-ups and die changes, completing quality checks, tracking production, and packing finished product to specification.

What You Will Be Doing

- Monitor assigned extrusion lines and associated downstream equipment to ensure production runs according to work orders and quality requirements.
- Load raw materials, colour, blowing agents and other required materials into extrusion equipment and monitor material consumption.
- Assist with extrusion line set-ups, die changes and production start-ups.
- Complete first-off checks during start-up and work with Quality Assurance to confirm product specifications.
- Check product length, colour and other required specifications throughout production.
- Monitor finished product against work orders and approved samples.
- Identify line or production issues and assist with troubleshooting and corrective action.
- Complete production documentation, including tracking good product and scrap.




- Pack finished product according to work-order requirements.
- Communicate production status and relevant requirements to the incoming shift.
- Maintain tools, equipment and the extrusion work area in a clean, organized and safe condition.
- Follow all company safety, quality and operating procedures.

What We Are Looking For

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a plastics extrusion manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience monitoring extrusion equipment in a production environment.
- Exposure to die set-ups, die changes and extrusion line start-ups.
- Ability to follow work orders, production specifications and quality requirements.
- Valuable problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Dependable, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work extended or flexible hours when required.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site manufacturing position in Woodbridge, Ontario. The role requires compliance with all applicable health and safety requirements, use of required personal protective equipment, and participation in maintaining a safe and organized production environment.
