Extrusion Operator

Woodbridge, Ontario | Full Time, Permanent | Plastics Manufacturing

This position is suited to someone who knows extrusion beyond simply watching the line run. We are looking for an operator who is comfortable with set ups, die changes, start ups, troubleshooting, quality checks and keeping production running to specification.

What You Will Be Doing

- Operate and monitor extrusion lines and associated downstream equipment.
- Perform line start ups, set ups and die changes.
- Load raw materials, colour and other required materials into extrusion equipment and monitor material usage.
- Review production work orders and ensure product is manufactured to required specifications.
- Complete first off checks during line start up and work with Quality Assurance for approval.
- Check finished product for length, colour and other required quality specifications throughout production.
- Identify line or production issues and assist with troubleshooting and corrective action.
- Complete required production, material and start up documentation.
- Pack finished product as required and maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.




- Communicate production status and relevant requirements during shift changes.

What We Are Looking For

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a plastics extrusion manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands on extrusion operating and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience completing die changes, line set ups and production start ups.
- Ability to read and follow production specifications and work orders.
- Strong understanding of quality requirements in a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Good problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Dependable, safety conscious and comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work extended or flexible hours when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions

- Full time, on site position in Woodbridge, Ontario.
- Manufacturing setting requiring adherence to all health, safety and quality procedures.
- Personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
