Role & Responsibilities

As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will look after the day-to-day upkeep of a commercial retail property in Duncan. You will also be BioVera's on-site liaison with the Property Manager, responsible for quality control and for representing BioVera every day.

Parking Lot & Site Cleaning: Cleaning twice a day (morning and evening), five days a week. This includes leaf blowing, litter pickup, emptying the property's garbage receptacles, and removing stains from the parking lot.

Graffiti Removal: Finding and removing graffiti quickly using safe, eco-friendly cleaning solutions.

Landscape Maintenance: Year-round care of landscaped areas, including mowing, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, mulching and managing the irrigation.

Snow & Ice Management: Supporting plowing, salting and walkway clearing from November to March,



including mobilizing outside regular hours during winter weather events.

Daily Walkthrough & Reporting: Walking the whole site every day and submitting a digital maintenance log to the Property Manager by 11:00 AM.

Property Manager Communication: Speaking with the Property Manager every day about site status, priorities and quality control.

Trade & Maintenance Coordination: Serving as the on-site contact for trades and contractors. This includes providing access to vacant units, supporting tenant improvement work, and flagging repairs for approval.

After-Hours On-Call: Taking part in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent site issues outside regular hours.

Equipment Care: Operating and maintaining site equipment safely, including electric blowers, pressure washers, landscaping tools and hand tools.

Scope of Work The Technician will provide grounds maintenance, janitorial and landscaping services across the entire commercial retail site, including but not limited to:

Two freestanding commercial buildings and their exterior perimeters

Customer parking lots

Easement roadways

Bus shelters

Sidewalks and pedestrian walkways

Building entrances and exits

Garbage enclosures and exterior garbage receptacles

Landscaped areas and irrigation systems

Curbs, gutters, wheel stops and parking islands

Vacant units (access and site support only)





Key Qualifications & Requirements

Location: Candidates living in or near Duncan, BC/Saanich / Greater Victoria will receive priority.

Availability: Must be available to work either Saturday or Sunday as part of the regular weekly schedule.

Communication: Functional or basic English communication skills (written and spoken) to complete simple daily logs and understand basic safety instructions. Newcomers to Canada and English learners are welcome and encouraged to apply!

Driver's Licence: Valid Driver's Licence required.

Physical Capability: Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, stand/walk for extended periods, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
