Company Description Meridian Mental Health & Assessment (formerly Becker Burrows & Associates) is a group psychology practice based in Nanaimo, BC, serving clients with a wide range of mental health needs. Clinicians provide care for concerns such as post-traumatic stress, occupational stress including support for First Responders, psychological assessment, and anxiety and mood-related difficulties. Role Description The Front Office Receptionist is responsible for providing the first point of contact for clients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience. This contract role is hybrid, with primary work on-site in Nanaimo, BC and some tasks that can be completed from home as appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, scheduling and confirming appointments, and managing client check-in and check-out processes.

The role also involves maintaining an organized front office, handling intake forms and documentation, updating client records,



and coordinating with clinicians about scheduling and administrative needs. The Receptionist will support basic billing and payment processing, manage email and voicemail, and uphold privacy and confidentiality standards in all client interactions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Phone Etiquette skills, including skilled communication, accurate message-taking, and timely follow-up.
- Candidates should possess Receptionist Duties and Front Office skills, such as appointment scheduling, visitor check-in, and organizing administrative workflows.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service and Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, empathy, and a client-centered approach.
- Comfort with basic computer applications and practice management or scheduling software.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work respectfully with individuals experiencing mental health concerns.
- Previous experience in a healthcare, counseling, or mental health setting is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in office administration or related fields is an advantage.
