Role Overview The Fundraising Manager will serve as co-lead of the fundraising department alongside the Fundraising Events Manager, overseeing three core pillars: fundraising events strategy (partnerships & sponsorships), networking, and fundraising campaigns. This role is ideal for someone with a marketing or partnerships background who can leverage university networks, drive sponsorship outreach, and help build Welfare Avenue's brand presence on campus and beyond.

The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-driven, and passionate about creating sustainable social impact. Someone who can both strategize and roll up their sleeves.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Events (Co-Leadership)

- Co-lead the fundraising events team alongside the Fundraising Events Manager and Event Coordinator, providing strategic direction and additional capacity
- Drive sponsorship and partnership outreach, both warm (past collaborators and volunteer partners) and cold (mission-aligned companies)
- Support execution of existing annual events including the Flag Football Fundraiser, Rally Paper, and Holiday Gift Basket Drive
- Develop current recurring fundraising events to fill gaps in the calendar, specifically fall semester and February through May, building toward a consistent yearly event lineup
- Leverage relationships with university clubs and associations to co-host or integrate fundraising & programming opportunities

Individual Donor Program (Oversight)

- Oversee and support the team working on recurring donor acquisition and communication
- Apply a marketing lens to improve donor engagement strategies, including digital presence (e.g.



LinkedIn) and community-facing brand awareness
- Explore creative outreach channels such as campus publications, partner event integrations, and branded merchandise that build Welfare Avenue's identity among students

General Fundraising Leadership

- Represent Welfare Avenue at external events and networking opportunities such as conferences and community tables
- Track fundraising goals, donor activity, and campaign performance
- Maintain donor and sponsor records and prepare periodic fundraising reports
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to amplify campaigns

Who You Are

- Experience in fundraising, marketing, business development, sales, or partnerships, ideally within a student or nonprofit context
- Strong network
- Excellent relationship-building skills, comfortable with both warm outreach and cold prospecting
- Strategic thinker who can also execute and delegate effectively
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple projects
- Passionate about community impact, student engagement, and social causes
- Grant writing experience is an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
