The Company

Trillium Architectural Products is a leader in the door and hardware industry. We work with architects, designers and contractors to provide safe, secure and functional door openings for commercial and institutional building projects.

The Role

​​We are seeking an accurate, organized and experienced accounting qualified to join our team as General Accountant.

The successful candidate will work on a high volume of project accounting, invoicing and payables, as well as other accounting duties.

This in a full time in-person role. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4:30PM.

Candidate Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with a focus on project accounting
- Experience with a distributor/subcontractor in the commercial construction industry is a definite asset
- Proficient with Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLookup
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Collaborates effectively across departments and support overall corporate objectives

Responsibilities

Project Accounting (75%)

- Ensure project finances are aligned with contract terms
- Reconcile invoices with contract values and change orders
- Prepare and issue client billing packages, ensuring client receives billings on time and payments are remitted as per contract terms




- Work with Project Managers to ensure costs are recorded and projects are billed according to agreed schedules
- Issue and maintain up-to-date insurance certificates and statutory declarations

General Accounting (25%)

- Assist with full-cycle accounting processes and month-end-close procedures
- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts
- Prepare accrual entries and maintain accounting schedules
- Assist with essential AP functions
- Apply customer payments
- Participate in special projects as assigned

Compensation The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000. The final salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. We offer a competitive health and dental benefit package, as well as flexible work options.
