The General Manager will provide overall leadership and management of the company's manufacturing operations, business performance, employees, and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will ensure operational efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction, employee development, continuous improvement, and achievement of the company's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and engineering, combined with business and management experience. The individual should be comfortable working at both the strategic level and directly with Production, Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and other operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide overall leadership and direction to the organization.
- Develop and implement operational and business strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee manufacturing, quality, maintenance, shipping, tooling, and administrative functions.
- Monitor production, labour, quality, delivery, and operational performance.
- Establish, monitor, and improve departmental KPIs.
- Develop and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase profitability.
- Lead continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, labour efficiency, and production capacity.
- Work closely with Engineering, Toolroom, Production, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve operational issues.
- Ensure production capacity and resources are aligned with customer requirements.
- Review capital expenditure requirements and make recommendations regarding equipment, technology, and facility improvements.
- Develop and maintain appropriate production planning and scheduling processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, employment, environmental, and other applicable requirements.
- Lead and develop management and supervisory teams.
- Support recruitment, employee development, succession planning, and performance management.




- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, quality, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technological improvement.
- Represent the company with key customers, suppliers, industry partners, and other stakeholders.

Technical / Manufacturing Skills The ideal candidate should have a solid working knowledge of:

- Manufacturing processes and production systems.
- Metal stamping, spring manufacturing, tooling, machining, or related manufacturing processes.

Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Tool and Die, or a related field is an asset.
- Extensive hands-on experience in tool and die making/tooling within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong experience in metal stamping, presses, dies, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing management experience, preferably in a metal stamping, automotive, or tool and die manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading manufacturing teams and managing supervisors and skilled trades personnel.
- Strong understanding of production planning, quality control, maintenance, tooling, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand tooling and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies is an asset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make practical, timely decisions.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
