Parallax is looking for a Geology Student to work with our Geoscience team for a 4-month term from May to August 2027. Our team requires an organized and motivated candidate that is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The individual will be involved in a variety of geoscience projects in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams such as Drilling, Completions and Mineral Land. This position will be based in Calgary with opportunities to visit field-based operations in the Red Deer area.

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret well log data, pick tops, generate maps, QC results

· Evaluate completions and review well history and production

· Support the Geoscience team with day-to-day geological tasks





· Work with various software applications such as Geoscout, Petrosight, Geographix and Seisware

· Integrate geologic interpretation with available 3D seismic data

· Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills by compiling and presenting findings at the end of the summer term

Requirements:

- Minimum completion of third year, working towards a BSc or MSc degree in Geology
- Familiarity with log interpretation, formation correlation, mapping and reservoir characterization

· Basic understanding of geochemistry · Ability to solve problems and adapt to changing priorities while using sound judgment

· Have a positive, collaborative attitude while contributing to a fast-paced team

· Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision

· Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

· Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is considered an asset

· Coding experience is considered an asset
