Sunstone Golf Club in beautiful Pemberton, BC, is currently hiring a Golf Course Mechanic who will have the chance to train alongside the current Head Mechanic and transition into the Head Mechanic role in Spring 2027.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience as a Heavy Duty, Agricultural, Turf Equipment, or Small Engine Mechanic who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working outdoors. You’ll work with a wide range of equipment and have the chance to build your skills while preparing to step into a leadership role at a fun, community-oriented 18-hole golf course.

The Perfect Candidate:

- Training or experience as a heavy duty, agricultural, turf equipment, or small-engine mechanic (apprentices welcome).
- Hydraulic and diesel / gas engine troubleshooting skills.
- Comfort diagnosing electrical problems.
- Organized, and able to track work orders,



schedule maintenance, and order parts.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- Reliable and safety-minded.
- Golf course or reel mower experience is an asset but not required; we’ll teach you.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to the course.

Responsibilities Include:

- You’ll keep our maintenance fleet running safely and reliably. That includes reel mowers from Jacobsen, Baroness, John Deere, and Toro; Toro spray, Aerator., and utility equipment; John Deere tractors and Gators; an excavator; and a fleet of 35 lithium golf carts.
- Day to day, that means preventive maintenance, diagnosing hydraulic, engine, and electrical problems, completing repairs, and reel and bedknife grinding to keep our cut quality high.
- Through the fall, you’ll work side by side with our current Head Mechanic during our busiest repair period, learning the fleet machine by machine.
- The winter months focus on reel grinding, rebuilds, and getting everything ready for spring.
- In spring 2027, you’ll take over as Head Mechanic, responsible for the shop, maintenance scheduling, parts ordering, and work orders.
