Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice

Great Northern Bridgeworks (GNB) is looking for a motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join our team in Fort St. John, BC.

This is an opportunity to learn and grow your skills while working alongside experienced mechanics and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and support equipment used on projects throughout Western and Northern Canada.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, greasing, fluid checks, and component inspections
- Assist experienced mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs
- Help diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical,



and other equipment issues
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
- Continue developing trade skills and knowledge through on-the-job experience and apprenticeship training

Qualifications
- Registered Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice or willing to pursue an apprenticeship
- Previous experience working around heavy equipment is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-minded
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
