Work location: On site; no remote work

Terms: Permanent employment, full time; 1 vacancy

Hours: 30 hours per week guaranteed

Wage: $20.00 per hour

Start date: as soon as possible

Responsibilities

- Meet with clients to discuss their health history, wellness goals and use of herbs; document consultations and recommendations.
- Assess clients within the scope of herbal practice and advise on suitable herbs, preparations, precautions and possible herb–medication interactions.
- Prepare herbal teas, tinctures, salves and other preparations; maintain clear records and follow safe handling, storage and labelling procedures.
- Organize herbal ingredients and dispensary inventory, including ordering and stock rotation.
- Develop and lead workshops and demonstrations about Western herbal medicine and medicinal plants.
- Help develop herbal education activities that complement our outdoor and nature based experiences.
- Recognize when a client should be referred to a regulated healthcare qualified and protect client confidentiality.

Requirements

- A diploma or certificate in Western herbal medicine,



phytotherapy or a closely related herbal medicine discipline, normally from a program of two years or longer.
- Supervised clinical practice as part of herbal medicine training.
- Knowledge of herbal formulation, safe preparation, contraindications and client record keeping.
- Experience preparing herbal products and conducting client consultations is an asset.
- Experience in healthcare, wellness education or a client care setting is an asset.
- Strong communication, organization and client service skills; ability to work in person in both indoor and outdoor settings.

The Clinical Herbalist will assist the company in developing a new wellness component that complements its existing nature and outdoor experiences.
