Selkirk College's School of Industry and Trades Training requires Relief Instructional Assistants to provide training within the Fine Woodworking (Cabinetmaker) program at the Silver King Campus. The successful applicant must be capable as directed, to provide assistants in all levels of the Fine Woodworking program delivered by the College.

Education and Experience

- High school graduation or equivalent
- (IP) Red Seal Certification in Cabinetmaker and/or Diploma/Degree/Certificate in Furniture Making plus a minimum of five (5)



years of additional practical experience in the Fine Woodworking industry
- Knowledge in the set-up, maintenance and repair of woodworking, tools and equipment
- Computer literacy in word processing, email and appropriate software applications including CAD drafting software
- Proficiency in furniture design and fabrication of fine furniture
- Knowledge of furniture photography is an asset
- Post-secondary teaching experience is an asset
- Teaching Certificate or Provincial Instructional Diploma is an asset
- Demonstrated curriculum development skills is an asset

This is a non-regular, relief position (0%), commencing as soon as possible, and ending August 31, 2027, with the possibility of renewal. Salary and Perks are in accordance with the BCGEU Collective Agreement. The salary range is $36.84 - $59.04 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
