We are currently looking for an experienced Journeyman Service Plumber, Gas-Fitter and Boiler Technician to join our Plumbing Service team in MNBS. The successful candidate will bring a strong commercial service background and demonstrated experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and servicing of commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.

Pay: $66.00/hour + Union Package

Vacation Pay / Statutory Holiday Pay: Included in the stated hourly rate

The Role

A Journeyman Service Plumber, Gas-Fitter and Boiler Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning commercial plumbing and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will have a strong service background and be comfortable working independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship, safety, customer service, and documentation.

Experience with commercial boilers, hydronic heating systems, pumps, controls, domestic hot water systems, backflow prevention, and gas-fired equipment is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Journeyman Service Plumber, Gas-Fitter and Boiler Technician include, but are not limited to:

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial plumbing and mechanical equipment.
- Service and maintain commercial boilers and hydronic heating systems.
- Diagnose and service pumps, controls, and related mechanical equipment.
- Service domestic hot water systems and associated equipment.
- Inspect, test, service, and maintain backflow prevention equipment.
- Service and troubleshoot gas-fired equipment.
- Identify equipment issues and provide effective repair solutions.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Complete service calls in a professional, safe, and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and equipment documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers, building operators, project teams, and other trades.
- Work collaboratively with other trades in commercial and mechanical environments.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, codes, standards, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Use mobile applications and digital service tools to complete required documentation.
- Represent Modern Niagara professionally while working on customer sites.

Required Skills





- Solid commercial plumbing service background.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repair requirements.
- Knowledge of commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and service work.

- Ability to accurately complete service reports and work orders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, email, mobile applications, and other digital service tools.

Qualifications and Experience

- Journeyman certification in Plumbing is required.
- Gas-fitting experience and credentials are considered an asset.
- Strong experience servicing commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Experience with commercial boilers and hydronic heating systems is considered an asset.
- Experience with pumps and mechanical controls is considered an asset.
- Experience with domestic hot water systems is considered an asset.
- Experience with backflow prevention is considered an asset.
- Experience with gas-fired equipment is considered an asset.
- Factory-authorized boiler training is considered a strong asset.
- Class A Gasfitter credentials are considered a strong asset.
