About Limestone

Limestone Analytics (Limestone) is an international consulting firm specializing in the economic analysis of public policies, social programs, and international development projects. We help organizations advance meaningful change through collaborative and evidence-based decision-making. Since our inception in 2016, Limestone has successfully completed assignments for governments, multilaterals, and large NGOs around the world, including USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the World Bank, World Vision, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization, and Nutrition International.

The Chance

Limestone Analytics is looking to connect with exceptional MA students and PhD candidates in Economics who may be interested in occasional, casual consulting work alongside their studies.

This is a flexible opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting real economic consulting projects. Work may include basic economic research, data analysis, literature reviews, data collection, and other project support, depending on the needs of our team and your skills and experience.

There is no set schedule, commitment, or defined term. We are simply looking to build relationships with talented students who may be interested in taking on occasional project work as opportunities arise.

What We’re Looking For

- Currently completing an MA or PhD in Economics
- Some prior professional work experience (this does not need to be in economics)




- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Curious, reliable, and eager to learn; demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism
- Previous experience with economic research, data analysis, or programming is an asset, but is not required.

Where This Could Lead

We expect the initial work to be fairly basic and project-specific. However, students who demonstrate strong skills and an ability to contribute to our work may have opportunities to take on more complex and substantive consulting work over time.

Other Details

- Contract type: Consulting, casual. There are no guaranteed hours; students will be assigned work based on their schedule and the availability of project work.
- Compensation: Set rate of $23.34 CAD/hour for MA students. Starting point of $33 for PhD students
- Location: Flexible. There will be the opportunity to work from the Limetone office in Kingston, Ontario, but little in-office requirement.
- Candidates will be assessed on a rolling basis, with interviews taking place over the next several weeks. The posting will close on October 31, 2026.
