Kitchen Assistant / Food Prep Assistant The Pondmere Estate – Hamilton, Ontario The Pondmere Estate is looking for a reliable, hardworking Kitchen Helper / Food Prep Assistant to join our estate hospitality team.

This is not a chef position, and previous professional cooking experience is not required. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with food, is comfortable learning basic cooking and food preparation, and is willing to help wherever needed in the kitchen.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, takes pride in keeping a clean workspace and works well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- Preparing ingredients and assisting with daily food preparation
- Learning to prepare and cook straightforward menu items according to recipes and standards
- Portioning and assembling food for service
- Washing dishes, cookware and kitchen equipment
- Keeping counters, workstations and kitchen areas clean and organized
- Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen throughout and at the end of each shift
- Restocking ingredients and supplies
- Assisting with receiving and putting away kitchen supplies
- Following food safety and sanitation procedures




- Helping the kitchen team with other duties as required

What We Are Looking For
- Available Wednesday through Sunday
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working with food and willing to learn basic cooking skills
- Able to follow recipes and instructions
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Able to work efficiently during busy periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
- Previous restaurant, café, catering or kitchen experience is an asset, but not required

About The Pondmere Estate The Pondmere Estate is a private hospitality and experience venue in the Hamilton area. We pride ourselves on warm hospitality, beautiful presentation and creating memorable experiences for our guests. Job Type: Part-time / Full-time depending on availability

Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, including weekends
