DBL Disposal Services is looking for a reliable, hardworking Labourer / Scale Attendant to join our team at our Church Rd Disposal Yard & Gravel Mart.

This is a versatile position that combines customer service and scale operations with hands-on yard work. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with customers, handling transactions and paperwork, while also being willing to work outdoors and help wherever needed to keep the yard running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Scale & Customer Service

- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles using the scale system
- Accurately enter customer, material and transaction information
- Process cash, debit, credit and charge-account transactions
- Identify incoming materials and ensure they are acceptable at our facility
- Direct customers to the appropriate dumping or loading areas
- Answer customer questions regarding disposal, gravel products, pricing and site procedures
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records
- Communicate with operators and other yard staff regarding customer loads and material requirements

Yard & Labour Duties

- Perform general labour duties throughout the disposal yard and gravel mart
- Keep the yard, scale area and customer areas clean and organized
- Pick up loose debris and assist with maintaining disposal areas
- Monitor incoming loads and help ensure materials are placed in the correct areas
- Assist customers safely throughout the yard when required
- Work safely around loaders, trucks and other heavy equipment
- Assist operators and other employees as needed
- Perform general site maintenance and cleanup
- Follow all DBL safety procedures and site rules
- Report unsafe conditions,



unacceptable materials or customer concerns to management

Qualifications

- Previous customer service, scale house, POS, construction, waste/recycling or yard experience is an asset
- Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
- Able to accurately handle payments and customer transactions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable performing physical work and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to work safely around trucks and heavy equipment
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Willing to switch between office/scale duties and physical yard work throughout the day
- Valid driver’s licence preferred

What We’re Looking For This position requires someone who can be just as comfortable helping a customer at the scale as they are putting on work gloves and helping out in the yard.
