Who is Green as Grass?

At Green as Grass, our inclusive team has a passion for building landscapes on a large scale and we are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in providing quality installations at an efficient pace. For over 30 years we have been installing all types of hard and soft landscaping specializing in multi-family residential and commercial projects typically involving rooftop applications. This is not mowing lawns and pruning hedges. This is the Landscape Construction Trade. We are busier than ever and need talented people to grow with us.

- Compensation Based on Performance - We are proud to pay our team members for what they are worth. At Green as Grass you can expect to be compensated according to your ability. Your talents and efforts will not go unnoticed or underappreciated and as you grow and expand your skillset, we will raise your wage to match your value. At least once a month we review all team members and consider raises for those who have earned it. If you consistently produce a better and faster install, you could earn way more than you started at, in no time. We need talented, hard-working individuals and we aren't afraid to pay well for people who fit the bill.
- $1000 Signing Bonus - We offer a $1000 signing bonus payable to everyone after 3 months of full time work. If you aren’t sure about working with us, give it a shot for 3 months, and if you decide this isn’t for you, we will be happy to give you the bonus, shake hands, and part ways. But maybe in the meantime you will learn to love landscaping as much as we do.

This becomes available after completing your first 3 months with us and the amount you are eligible for increases for every year you work with us.
- Prospect for Advancement - We are looking to expand our company and we need talented people to fill critical roles. If you prove to be responsible and have a passion for landscaping along with the necessary skills, we would be happy to train and advance you into a leadership position. Of course this would come with more responsibilities and more compensation.
- Training - If you are new to the landscaping trade or if you are looking to hone your skills, we will be happy to train you in our field of expertise. From the installation process, techniques, and practice with power and basic hand tools, and eventually operating skid steers and excavators.
- Flexibility - Everybody needs a break and we recognize that our team needs to get away and enjoy life outside of work. We are happy to accommodate extra vacation time and as a result we don’t limit the amount of vacation days allotted.
- Permanent, Full-time Work - We are not seasonal. We work through the entire year and you can expect to be able to earn a living year-round. We work Monday-Friday, day shifts. Saturdays are sometimes available for those interested in working more, but it's completely optional and never expected of anyone.

What Type of Person Meets Our Criteria?

- Construction Experience - Whether you are a multi-year veteran tradesman/tradeswoman or someone looking to gain experience in the industry, we have a spot for you. The more time you have on jobsites, the better. Experience in landscape installations is especially beneficial but any experience in construction may be good enough.



If you lack any experience in construction this role is unfortunately not for you.
- A Good Work Ethic - Come to work daily, ready to sweat a little. We don’t demand that you run a marathon every day, but this is a physical job and you should be prepared to work with and lift heavy objects regularly and push yourself to a pace that is tiring but manageable in whatever task you are doing.
- Able to Handle Vancouver Weather - This job is performed outside in uncovered areas 99% of the time. So, you have to be able to handle the rain and cold of the winter and the sunshine and heat of the summer.
- A Desire to do Valuable Work - You should care about the product you are installing and have a desire to leave our clients with a preferable result, no matter how small your task might be. Every part of our work is important and we want you to care and get the satisfaction of a job well done at the end of the day.

What Tasks Should You Expect to Do?

- Soft Landscaping - Loading and grading soil, sand, mulch, and aggregates. Installing sod, plants, and trees.
- Hard Landscaping - Installing pavers on aggregate, pavers on pedestals, concrete block walls, artificial turf and various woodworking such as retaining walls, fences, drip strips, and pergolas.

Experience/Qualifications That Could be Beneficial - (Not necessary)

- Landscaping installation experience
- Drivers license
- Excavator operation experience
- Skid-steer operation experience
- Fall-pro certification
