We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Licensed Optician to join our vibrant optical team. In this role, you will be the essential link between patients and their perfect eyewear solutions, combining technical expertise with exceptional customer service. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients in selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyewear while ensuring compliance with all licensing and safety standards.

Duties

- Provide personalized assistance to patients in selecting eyewear that suits their prescription needs, lifestyle, and style preferences
- Measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses accurately using specialized tools and techniques
- Verify prescriptions and ensure all eyewear meets quality standards before dispensing
- Educate patients on lens options, lens coatings, frame styles, and proper eyewear maintenance
- Maintain detailed records of patient prescriptions, transactions, and inventory using electronic health record systems such as Epic
- Conduct laboratory procedures including lens edging, mounting, and adjustments to ensure optimal fit and comfort




- Manage retail sales by promoting accessories, lens treatments, and additional optical products to enhance patient satisfaction

Skills

- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care and vision correction
- Proven laboratory experience with lens fabrication, edging, and mounting techniques
- Extensive optical experience with a solid grasp of frame fitting, measurements, and adjustments
- Retail sales skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and achieving sales goals
- Knowledge of Epic or similar electronic health record systems for accurate documentation
- Familiarity with retail management principles to support inventory control and store operations
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members
